  1. What are your top work priorities?

    A. Meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations.
    B. Building long-term relationships.
    C. Providing employees with opportunities for growth and development
    D. Educating the youth about opportunities in our industry.
    E. Continually looking for ways to improve.
    F. Being process-driven.

  2. What excites you most about the future at TCS Mechanical?

Seeing employees grow and develop and reach their full potential.

  3. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I asked a mentor of mine in the second year of TCS operation what my goals should be. I told him we had met and set the goals for the company for the year, and I asked him what my personal goals should be. He replied by asking me if I was building a company or a prison. He said often people build prisons for themselves by building companies that are too dependent on the ownership for day-to-day operations. He said I needed to empower the employees to make decisions, he said my goal should be to be able to leave for a month and have everything operating just as it would if I was there when I returned.

  4. If you won the lottery, what is one toy you’d buy?

Depends on how much I won! But right now, it would probably be a new boat or a classic muscle car.

  5. If you’ve got three hours to yourself on a Saturday, what’s on the agenda?

Probably spend time working at the ranch, it’s where I go to recharge.

  6. What is the most memorable event you’ve attended (concert, sporting event, festival, etc.)?

This is a tough one because I have been fortunate to have several. The one that is currently coming to mind is when we built the F1 Racetrack in Austin. I was one of the senior project managers for one of the contractors. Towards the end of the project, the owners asked for a list of the names of people who played a role in making the project successful. They then made a banner and displayed it during the first race. My son got to find my name on the list and witness me sign my signature next to my name.
