City of Austin Business Recovery and Disaster Planning Project

August 11, 2015 -

Overview for ARMA Newsletter

Austin manufacturers! Is your business prepared to withstand a disaster event? The City of Austin seeks to improve the readiness of the local manufacturing business community to prepare for an unplanned disaster caused by a natural or human-caused event. While Austin does not have a lot of natural disasters, there are other types of potential events that could disrupt your business. How would you respond and protect your business if, for example, there was a power grid failure or a disruption in your supply chain? Improved planning, detailed communication systems, and raised awareness can help to ensure that individuals and business owners are better prepared to take action and recover more quickly from an unplanned event.

You are invited to participate in an online survey and/or an interactive event with other local business owners to learn more about business recovery and disaster planning.

You are invited to take a quick online survey to assess your preparedness for an unplanned natural or human-caused disaster event– we want your input! The survey will be open online from August 11 to September 9, 2015.
