1. What made you want to pursue manufacturing as a career?.

My journey in the manufacturing arena began in Puerto Rico, where it played a pivotal role in the professional development of workers. As a chemist, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the pharmaceutical sector, which later led to a transition into the distribution of industrial chemicals to various manufacturing industries, spanning from food and beverage to electronics and medical devices.

Working through numerous manufacturing plants provided me with invaluable insights into professionalism and scalability. Witnessing the impact we could make on society by touching more lives fueled my passion for the industry even further.

However, as economic conditions tightened on the island, I sought new horizons for growth. This quest led me to Austin, TX where I discovered Feniex Industries. The mission and purpose of the company resonated deeply with my personal values, making it a perfect match for me.

2. As a woman, have you faced any challenges in pursuing this career?

As a woman navigating the manufacturing arena, I’ve found that success is truly determined by one’s merits and dedication, rather than gender. Throughout my journey, I’ve encountered challenges and hurdles, but none of them have been inherently tied to my gender.

My advice to women, and indeed to individuals of all genders, is to refrain from filtering your experiences through the lens of self-discrimination. Too often, I’ve witnessed individuals holding themselves back due to their own beliefs, more so than any external factors.

In this industry, as in any other, it’s essential to recognize your own worth and potential. By focusing on your capabilities and working hard to achieve your goals, you can transcend any barriers that may come your way. Don’t let preconceived notions, whether internal or external, limit your potential. Believe in yourself, pursue your aspirations relentlessly, and let your achievements speak for themselves.

3. What advice would you give to a young woman who is considering a career in manufacturing?

I highly recommend young women to pursue a career in manufacturing because of all the areas of growth and evolution that exist in this arena. The opportunities to learn multiple skills and disciplines within manufacturing provide almost unlimited areas of expression. As I see it, there are no limits when developing within the manufacturing industry. My evolution started from sales to VP Sales, COO and now CSO… there are no limits!

4. How many employees does Feniex have?

80

5. What are you struggling with right now (ex: supply chain, workforce, specific training/hiring, etc.)?

Currently, one of the primary challenges in manufacturing lies in staffing, particularly in talent development. While hiring may not be the issue, fostering an environment where employees can reach their full potential and express themselves passionately is essential. This requires instilling a strong work ethic and cultivating a sense of purpose where work seamlessly merges with passion.

Leadership plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges. It’s important to recognize that not everyone has had the same level of mentorship or guidance. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to standardize the values and culture of the organization, providing mentorship and support to help employees thrive.

By nurturing a culture of continuous learning, transparent communication, and empowerment, leaders can help employees unlock their full potential, ultimately driving the success and growth of the organization.

6. In what area does your company excel, or what do you do better than anyone else?

Providing the most cost efficient and functional warning technology for vehicle applications across all global markets. 7. What is one cool fact about the company?

In a collaborative environment, Hamza fosters cross-departmental communication daily, driving innovation and cohesion throughout the organization.
