MARK WELLS

PRESIDENT, KTEC CLEANROOM
07 August 2023
1. Where is your hometown?

I grew up in Benton, AR, about 30 minutes SW of Little Rock. It was a small town back then, and with five siblings we created our own fun in the woods and fields surrounding our house.

2. What is your favorite Austin restaurant?

Living and working in Georgetown I’d have to say 2020 Market. Everything about it hits the spot, especially for happy hour. For special occasions it would be Wildfire, also in Georgetown.

3. Is there something that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

Take a solo motorcycle trip through the American west. NM, UT, CO, WY, etc. Become immersed in the landscape and history, and enjoy the empty, twisty roads. The wide-open spaces have always appealed to me.

4. Do you have any travel plans for this summer? If not - what’s on your dream vacation list?

We’ll be back to NYC again late August for the US Open tennis tournament. The first week is the best, as there is opportunity to see all the players. We also get to visit our son who is a high school teacher in NYC.

5. What advice would you give to a recent hire at KTEC Cleanroom?

Take the time to make it right, because if it isn’t, it will be that way forever.

6. What has been your proudest moment as President of KTEC Cleanroom?

When I hear from customers and others familiar with our work what a great crew we have, or that our cleanrooms are the best. We are in our 26th year in business; maintaining a good reputation takes work.
